As the summer wraps up heading into Labor Day weekend can I
just say that it has been an awesome year for movies so far. I remember
salivating over the releases slated for this year last year during this time. With the wealth of promising releases I could see the famine that the 2007-2008 Writers Strike had caused for features had ended Those movies have held up to
their promise (well except Battleship it had potential but didn’t deliver).
This has truly been a year of fun.

Boom or Bust?
I had recently read an article that director/producer J.J.Abrams was interviewed. In it he talked about how the budgets for Hollywood
blockbusters are getting out of hand. Upon hearing this I thought about it for
a moment and I had to agree with Mr. Abrams.

Is It Really Worth It?
A shockwave has hit the film community yesterday. Tony Scott(director of some of my favorite films including Top Gun and Man on Fire)committed suicide yesterday. I didn’t know Tony personally but when I heard the
news I felt a great sadness and a sense of loss. It has made me reflect on why
I continue to pursue my career of choice.
