Well this is it. This is the final installment for my summer
movie memories. If you are just now tuning in you can catch up with part 1 and
part 2 before continuing. So after believing that dinosaurs once again roamed
the earth in 93’ I went through a summer movie drought. The problem was that I
was at the mercy of my parents giving me the go ahead and the funding.

Summer Movie Magic Part II: The Summer Strikes Back
Yes after much anticipation the sequel is here. If you need
a refresher check out Summer Movie Magic Part I before continuing. After my
magical summer of 89’ I got to convince my parents to let go to more movies as
I was older now and started taking more of an interest. However my visits to
the theater were still few and far between especially during the summer months.

The Business Plan Strkies Back
I can’t stress how much I enjoy the process of making a
film. It is one of the few things in life that challenges me on a consistent
basis. There is no magic formula to success. However if planned properly you
can increase your chances for success.

Business Plan: The Movie
Working in film is a wonderful experience. It’s one of the
few professions where you can make your wildest imaginations come to life.
Content is king. That has been drilled into me since day one of film school.
This is very true. Without good content you’re dead in the water. So this is
usually the focus that a lot of directors such as myself lean towards.

Raiders of the Lost Ark. IMAX. Nuff Said.
I finally got to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. It’s was in
IMAX no less. Okay before you threaten to revoke my movie geek card I have seen
the movie before. I have the Indiana Jones trilogy on DVD and will have the
Indiana Jones complete set on Blu Ray as soon as it releases (and yes I enjoyed
Crystal Skull).

2012 How Do I Love Thee....
As the summer wraps up heading into Labor Day weekend can I
just say that it has been an awesome year for movies so far. I remember
salivating over the releases slated for this year last year during this time. With the wealth of promising releases I could see the famine that the 2007-2008 Writers Strike had caused for features had ended Those movies have held up to
their promise (well except Battleship it had potential but didn’t deliver).
This has truly been a year of fun.

Boom or Bust?
I had recently read an article that director/producer J.J.Abrams was interviewed. In it he talked about how the budgets for Hollywood
blockbusters are getting out of hand. Upon hearing this I thought about it for
a moment and I had to agree with Mr. Abrams.
